The Diamond League events at DN Galan 2013
DN Galan will include 16 Diamond League events next year and one of them is 110 m hurdles which was one of the most spectacular events in Diamond League last summer. The american Aries Merritt set a World record of 12.80 in Brussels and has competed at DN Galan before. Hopefully he will be one of many stars at Stockholm Olympic Stadion 22 Augusti 2013! DN Galan still amongst the world's best athletics meets
On Friday 17 August, the Stockholm Stadium Clubs arranged the 46th DN Galan as part of the Samsung Diamond League. The event went smoothly despite organizational challenges in the run-up to the meet with a number of key personnel leaving the organization creating difficult pre-conditions. But the event itself ended up including 11 Olympic gold-medallists and an additional 27 medallists from the London Games. Three shining diamonds found their owners at the 46th DN Galan
The athletes and audience experienced perfect conditions at this year's DN Galan. With a temperature of 23 degrees Celsius, sun and without a single breeze, the world's elite gathered to enjoy a night of athletics at the highest level. Some seven stadium records were broken by five athletes in three different events. The result was three one-carat diamonds for each new record holder; Julija Zaripova, 3000m steeplechase, Sandra Perkovic, discus and Valerie Adams in the shot put.

Among them you will find Angelica Bengtsson (pole vault), Anna Chicherova (high jump), Charonda Williams (200 m), Christine Ohuruogu (400 m), Isiah Koech (3000 m), Kellie Wells (100 m hurdles, Ryan Bailey (100 m), Sanya Richards-Ross (400 m hurdles), Taoufik Makhloufi (800 m), Tero Pitkämäki (javelin throw), Christian Taylor (winner of triple jump), shot put winner Valerie Adams,Christine Day (fastest at 400 m),Will Claye, triple jump, 1500 m-winner Maryam Yusuf Jamal,Felix Sanchez (2nd at 400 m hurdles),Angelo Taylor (400 m hurdles) and shot put winner Reese Hoffa.

Olympic 400 m champion, Sanya Richards-Ross, is optimistic about DN Galan and she's aiming to break the five-year-old stadium record.
